Digital Communications and Design Advisor (1 year term position)

Reports toCommunications, Strategy and Engagement Senior Advisor

The Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL) is a not-for-profit organization that supports the city’s 163 Community Leagues. Our mission is to engage, develop and connect Edmonton Community Leagues as they build healthy neighbourhoods.

Position Summary

The Digital Communications and Design Advisor will be responsible for maintaining and updating all EFCL websites, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with EFCL branding. They will manage the design of promotional materials and resources, provide technical expertise, and oversee the social media calendar, directing inquiries as needed. Additionally, the advisor will handle the technical aspects of EFCL services, including databases and payment solutions, and assist in the administrative management of EFCL events. They will also support public-facing events, manage the EFCL Resource Library, and document Community League events as required.

Duties and responsibilities

Operational Support
  • Maintain all EFCL websites including updates, new development and website statistics.
  • Manage the design of promotional materials and resources.
  • Provide design and technical expertise on resources and projects in alignment with EFCL branding.
  • Create and maintain a social media calendar and monitor social media, directing questions or issues to the appropriate staff member
  • Manage technical aspects of EFCL services and other products such as databases and payment solutions.
  • Maintain the EFCL staff intranet
  • Assist in managing administrative aspects of EFCL events through Eventbrite, the EFCL website and Zoom, including promotion, registration and follow up.

League Support and Resource Development
  • Manage and maintain the EFCL Resource Library
  • Support with public facing events as needed
  • Attending and documenting Community League events as required

Experience and Qualifications
  • Education, training or related experience in website design/development and maintenance, print and digital design
  • Professional experience working in web design and print/digital design, experience in web development is considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Professional experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Wordpress, Google Analytics and Google Suite 
  • Proficiency with Mailchimp, Zapier, Zoom, Monday, Eventbrite, Hootsuite, and social media platforms is considered an asset
  • Experience working with Community Leagues is considered an asset
  • Experience with photography, videography and audio and video editing is considered an asset

Working Environment: This is a temporary contract position with an expected term of 1 year to cover a leave of absence and an expected start date of late September/Early October 2024.  This position works a 30-37.5 hour work week. Your regular schedule will be a four day work week (Monday to Thursday/Tuesday to Friday), rotating every six months. In order to meet the needs of the organization, some evening and weekend work will be required at times. The EFCL is a hybrid working environment where we have a blended model of working from home and the office. 

Benefits: Following a probation period of three months, the successful applicant will qualify for EFCL benefits and retirement plans.

Compensation

$62,864.50 - $67,400.75 per year
